| Roger was a pretty decent fellow and the only man I met in China that didn't smoke. For this reason, I made more drawings of him than any other male subject. He thought (correctly) that I made his mouth too big in this drawing. It's a good likeness of him regardless. Like with others in China, Roger and I communicated almost entirely with written notes, because I couldn't understand their pronunciation and they couldn't understand mine. |
